Poor academic practice refers to minor and unintentional departures from accepted scholarly conventions or failures to comply with assessment guidelines. A specific case is material provided to supervisors by their graduate researchers. These candidates own their text so it can only be uploaded into an AI with their explicit permission and with a clear statement of the purpose for which it is being uploaded. This also applies to co-authored material such as drafts of papers.
