UWA’s 2026 student AI guide now states that UWA staff and students must not use DeepSeek in any way, that UWA has blocked DeepSeek on University-managed networks and devices, and that students should avoid using DeepSeek on their personal devices.

For UWA coursework assessments, AI tools may only be used where the Unit Coordinator explicitly permits them; permitted use must be cited, referenced, and clearly acknowledged.
