Bepaling over AI
Samenvatting van de site · origineel hieronder
Permission depends on examination/course rules: where AI is prohibited, even feedback or proofreading through AI is prohibited. On-site examinations permitting AI are expressly exempted from the declaration requirement. AI-assisted preparation does not permit AI content in a prohibited examination answer.

The main rule is that you are allowed to use GAI if your academic regulations or the course catalogue doesn’t explicitly state that using GAI is not allowed.
What’s more, the university’s rules about academic cheating and plagiarism also apply to papers and assignments where you use GAI. Check the rules here.To be more specific, under these rules, you’re allowed to use GAI as a dialogue partner. But you’re not allowed to use GAI to do your exam project for you.
If you use part of a text or another output generated by a GAI application in your exam project without changing it, you must cite it in the same way you cite quotations from other secondary sources (Read the rules on citations here).
If you use GAI in your exam project, you must submit a declaration that contains the following: 1) confirmation you used GAI, 2) the name of the GAI applications you used (ChatGPT, Copilot, Bing etc. and 3) an explanation of how you used the applications in your paper.
You must submit the declaration as an attachment when you submit your exam project if you use GAI. The declaration must be uploaded as a separate file under ‘attachments’ in WISEflow”. To write your declaration, fill out the AU template you’ll find here. Unless you refer to your use of GAI in the methodology section of your paper, your declaration and your description of how you used GAI in the exam project will not be part of your grade.
Proofreading and feedback
If you’re allowed to use GAI for the exam in question, you must submit a declaration that you have used GAI for proofreading and feedback. This applies even though the text you include in your exam is your own work.Verzameld: · Regels: 12–18

If you’re not allowed to use GAI for the exam in question, you are not allowed to use GAI to proofread and give you feedback on your exam text. This applies even though the text you include in your exam is your own work. For exams where using GAI is not allowed, it doesn’t matter whether the text you include is written by a chatbot or whether you write it yourself: all use of GAI/chatbots is prohibited for this type of exam.
It’s fine to use GAI for feedback and help with text that isn’t included in your exam paper. However, be very careful not to include this kind of text in your exam paper if you’re not allowed to use GAI for the exam: if you do, this will be considered unauthorised use of an exam aid.
In on-site exams where GAI is allowed, you are not required to submit a declaration.
Exams where the internet is allowed, but GAI is not allowed
Exams where the internet is allowed, but AI is not allowed, you are allowed to do regular web searches, but you are not allowed to actively use AI functions. It is not considered cheating if your search engine automatically displays an AI-generated answer at the top of the search results - as long as you do not use the AI answer in your exam answerVerzameld: · Regels: 19–23
