The ULiège charter prohibits presenting AI-produced text, image, code, music, or similar output as one's own or as a fellow student's work, and says students who entrust all or part of personal work to ChatGPT or other AI may face sanctions.
ULiège has an official student charter setting a framework for generative AI use in academic contexts such as courses, assignments, exams, reports, and other learning activities.
Subject to instructor instructions and prohibited uses, the ULiège charter allows AI use in student work without special mention when it acts as a language assistant or information-search assistant.
The ULiège charter says students should be able to account transparently for their own contribution, and that work incorporating AI responses should reference the AI according to applicable bibliographic standards.
An official ULiège publication reports that ULiège opted for a Copilot license accessible to students and staff, with data protection guaranteed when used with a ULiège Microsoft account.
