Waterloo AVPA guidance on Applying UW Principles of AI Enablement to Teaching and Learning states that GenAI use must consider data security, prohibiting uploading student work or course materials to insecure AI tools, and specifying that student information such as identification or grades is subject to Policy 46 (Information Management) and must not be uploaded to AI tools that do not meet institutional security requirements.
