NTU Library advises students to check instructor and assignment instructions before using AI because expectations vary by module and discipline.
NTU’s dated 24 June 2025 statement says GenAI is generally permitted in assignments, but professors may prohibit it for specific pedagogical reasons communicated to students. Students are expected to declare use and how it was used, and remain responsible for accuracy and citations. This is a dated institutional statement, not the complete current internal teaching policy or permission for every assessment.
NTU Library instructs students to obtain explicit instructor permission for more extensive AI involvement, such as generating source materials or enhancing visuals.
NTU Library instructs students not to access AI tools during examinations when external resources are not permitted. This condition does not establish either a ban in every exam or automatic AI permission in open-resource exams.
