The Journal of Shandong University (Philosophy and Social Sciences) does not accept generative-AI tools as paper authors and states that human authors independently bear academic responsibility for research outputs.
To avoid copyright, privacy, security, and confidentiality risks, the journal notice states that the journal will not use publicly available generative-AI platforms to review papers during initial, re-review, or final-review stages.
For journal submissions, the notice supports generative-AI use only in auxiliary stages such as language polishing, literature retrieval, data organization and analysis, and idea development, and does not accept submissions where AI directly generates the research framework, main content, or core viewpoints.
For journal submissions involving generative-AI-assisted writing, authors are responsible for that use and should provide a generative-AI detection report when submitting; the journal screens submissions and rejects papers whose generative-AI detection ratio exceeds 20% at initial review.
