}Previous baseline and review records- cl-peking-university-institutional-ai-service-125 — Peking University lists 北大问学 (Beida Wenxue) as an AI-assisted teaching and learning service for its faculty and students. Its listing does not establish permission to use AI-generated work in coursework, examinations or degree assessments.
- cl-peking-university-institutional-ai-service-126 — On 27 June 2025, PKU’s Computing Center announced locally deployed 小北智学 (Xiaobei Zhixue) for faculty and students. Campus-card login permits joining public courses and interacting with an AI tutor. Instructors need whitelist approval to create courses and upload materials. Access does not grant assessment permission.
- claim-peking-university-1 — The AI Scientific Integrity Governance Platform hosted under Peking University’s domain organises comparative AI-use guidance across seven research stages. Its overview describes a synthesis of policies from multiple institutions and authorities; it does not establish a university-wide binding assessment policy.
- claim-peking-university-2 — The platform identifies faculty, students, researchers and administrators as the intended audience for its comparative guidance on AI in teaching, research and management. This describes the resource’s readership, not the verified applicability of an enacted Peking University AI policy.
- claim-peking-university-3 — The platform’s comparative guidance uses open, limited and prohibited use as classification terms for AI use across source policies. These terms are not evidence that Peking University adopted a uniform three-tier permission system for student assessments or research.
- claim-peking-university-4 — The platform distinguishes instrumental assistance from replacement completion as concepts in comparative research-integrity guidance. This conceptual distinction is not independently established as a binding university-wide Peking University rule.
- claim-peking-university-5 — The platform’s currently accessible overview identifies 16 institutional or organisational sources, including Chinese authorities and universities, international organisations, a publisher and overseas universities. This documents comparative coverage; it does not make those external policies binding on Peking University students.

- clm-pku-undergraduate-exam-devices — PKU undergraduate examination rules restrict electronic devices and other nonessential items at examination seats unless the chief examiner provides otherwise. This is a general exam rule, not a university-wide AI-use mandate.
- clm-pku-undergraduate-independent-exams — PKU undergraduate examinees must independently complete examination answers within the prescribed time. Applicable exam instructions still determine permitted aids; this general rule does not establish a comprehensive AI-specific ban.
- clm-pku-undergraduate-written-attribution — For undergraduate assignments, papers, reports and other works, PKU prohibits plagiarism, alteration, fabrication and other specified integrity violations; borrowed viewpoints, materials and data must identify their sources. This is not a separately verified universal AI declaration requirement.
- clm-pku-undergraduate-thesis-independent — PKU’s undergraduate thesis management rules require students to complete theses independently under supervision, follow school and department requirements and citation formats, and avoid academic misconduct. The text does not establish an institution-wide AI disclosure template.
- clm-pku-doctoral-independent-thesis — Article 24 of PKU’s 2025 degree-award regulations requires doctoral theses or relevant professional-degree reports to be independently completed from the student’s supervised research or professional work. It does not itself specify every permitted or prohibited AI assistance.
- clm-pku-degree-academic-review — Under Article 34, a degree applicant may submit a written request to the department or degree subcommittee to review an academic evaluation (such as expert review, defense or achievement recognition). The University must reorganise expert review within 30 days after acceptance and notify the applicant in writing; that review decision is final. This is distinct from the student disciplinary appeal filing deadline.
- clm-pku-degree-decision-review — Under Article 35, applicants or degree holders may seek written review through the department or degree office of refusal to accept a degree application, denial or revocation, or seek handling by the relevant lawful authority. University review is due within 30 days after acceptance, with written notification. This is separate from disciplinary appeals and academic-evaluation review.
- clm-pku-degree-misconduct-finding — PKU’s 2025 degree regulations provide for degree denial or revocation for specified misconduct including ghostwriting, plagiarism or fabrication after the required findings and degree-committee decision. Article 37 allocates academic-misconduct findings to the academic committee and the degree decision to the degree committee. AI use or a detector score alone is not established here as an automatic sanction.
- clm-pku-degree-representations — Before proposed degree denial or revocation, Article 39 requires PKU to inform the applicant or holder of the proposed decision and its facts, reasons and basis, and hear their statements and defense. This is a degree procedure, not proof of any AI-specific penalty.
- clm-pku-disciplinary-evidence-and-response — PKU’s general student disciplinary rules require sufficient evidence, clear basis, accurate characterisation, proper procedure and proportionate sanctions. Before the department proposes action, students must be informed of the facts, reasons, basis and their right to make statements and defense. The rules apply to students in ordinary higher-degree education, not exclusively AI cases.
- clm-pku-disciplinary-appeal-filing — Within the scope of PKU’s student appeal rules, a student may submit a written appeal to the student appeal committee within 10 days after service of the relevant management or disciplinary decision. This filing period does not replace the distinct degree-review procedures.
- clm-pku-appeal-review-period — The student appeal committee must review and notify a conclusion within 15 days after the appeal is raised. In complex cases the period may be extended by 15 days with the president’s approval. This is the institution’s handling period, not the student’s appeal filing period.
- clm-pku-appeal-effect-and-external — Under the student appeal rules, the original decision continues during appeal, although the committee may recommend deferral where necessary. A student disagreeing with the review decision may appeal in writing to the Beijing education authority within 15 days after receiving the review conclusion or review decision. These are scoped general appeal rules.
- clm-pku-ic-proposal-ai-restrictions — The School of Integrated Circuits’ doctoral topic-proposal document strictly prohibits AI generation of entire texts or substantive core passages presented as the author’s own argument, fabricated experimental/survey/case data, and undisclosed full-text translation used directly in the thesis body. This applies to the specified school doctoral procedure, not every PKU assessment.
- clm-pku-ic-comprehensive-ai-restrictions — The School of Integrated Circuits’ doctoral comprehensive-examination document strictly prohibits AI generation of entire texts or substantive core passages presented as the author’s own argument, fabricated experimental/survey/case data, and undisclosed full-text translation used directly in the thesis body. This applies to the specified school doctoral procedure, not every PKU assessment.
- clm-pku-ic-predefense-ai-restrictions — The School of Integrated Circuits’ doctoral pre-defense document strictly prohibits AI generation of entire texts or substantive core passages presented as the author’s own argument, fabricated experimental/survey/case data, and undisclosed full-text translation used directly in the thesis body. This applies to the specified school doctoral procedure, not every PKU assessment.
- clm-pku-ic-proposal-declaration — For AI use in the School of Integrated Circuits doctoral topic proposal, the published document requires an end-of-work declaration identifying the use, confirming human review and modification, and accepting responsibility for the final work. The declaration does not authorise the expressly prohibited uses.
- clm-pku-ic-comprehensive-declaration — For AI use in the School of Integrated Circuits doctoral comprehensive examination, the published document requires an end-of-work declaration identifying the use, confirming human review and modification, and accepting responsibility for the final work. The declaration does not authorise the expressly prohibited uses.
- clm-pku-ic-version-date-gap — The three School of Integrated Circuits doctoral web documents display a publication label of 14 July 2023 while their bodies state implementation from 2 July 2026. The current wording is preserved, but the intervening formal revision history has not been established; neither date is silently substituted for the other.
- clm-pku-meng-erdong-award — The 11th Meng Erdong Memorial Academic Award call prohibits generative AI creation of a submitted paper’s structure, viewpoints or content and prohibits fabricated materials, data and references. This is a competition rule for eligible Chinese Department graduate entrants, not a campus-wide thesis ban.
- clm-pku-administrative-data-protection — PKU’s administrative-information data rules require classified protection and lifecycle or filing management for institutional management data, and minimised storage plus authentication, access control, encryption and de-identification for systems involving sensitive personal information. Article 15 says non-administrative data management may refer to these rules; it does not impose universal student registration of every AI use.
- clm-pku-quarterly-journal-review-confidentiality — For referees of China Economic Quarterly (《经济学》(季刊)), the editorial policy prohibits uploading unpublished manuscripts, core arguments, key data or review comments to public AI tools. This is that journal’s peer-review confidentiality rule, not a universal PKU student-data policy.
- clm-pku-quarterly-journal-independent-review — China Economic Quarterly prohibits AI assistance in generating, writing or substantively modifying peer-review reports. Referees retain academic responsibility for their complete reports. This is a journal referee requirement, not a general ban on AI-assisted student writing.
- clm-pku-wenxue-human-marking-review — A 26 June 2026 PKU teaching-centre report describes 北大问学 providing preliminary AI marking, scores and feedback followed by review by a teacher or teaching assistant. This describes a service workflow and practice; it does not authorise autonomous final AI grading in every course.
- clm-pku-model-security-status — PKU’s network-information office lists a large-model security document whose title still includes “拟公开” (proposed for publication). Its text describes project-level classifications and filing, but final enactment status has not been established. It must not be treated as a confirmed requirement that every student seek approval before accessing AI.
